Shields-Collins Bray,
Piano
was named Co-Artistic Director of Voices of Change
early in 2001. He has been
Principal Keyboardist of the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra since 1986.
Appearing many times as soloist with that orchestra, he has hosted that
orchestra’s pre-concert lecture series since1993, and in recent seasons
has also turned to conducting. In addition to his post at the Fort Worth
Symphony, he has appeared as soloist with the symphony orchestras of Dallas,
Phoenix and Jacksonville, and with the Kennedy Center Opera Orchestra.
He has long been active as an accompanist and chamber musician,
and as a piano soloist with dance companies.
In March 2000 he appeared with The Bruce Wood Dance Company in
For Buddy, a dance work dedicated to him.
With Voices of Change he will curate three concerts annually, and perform
as pianist and conductor, as well.
Mr. Bray has also appeared on recordings with Voices of Change--the
latest of which is a collection of Donald Grantham works.
